The FAI (Italian Environment Fund) on the occasion of Panorama Day, organizes the Garden on the Colle dell'Infinito and opens its doors for a day dedicated to the Marche landscape, on 10 September.
At 11.00 and 17.00 it will be possible to take part in a special guided tour to discover the history of the Garden on the Colle dell'Infinito and the panorama that surrounds it.
The look beyond the wall of the ancient convent of S. Stefano will offer the starting point for a journey, led by the staff of the Bene, among historical and artistic notes, towards the villages and the landscape of the inland area. The panorama of the Sibillini Mountains will allow you to range from Maiella to Gran Sasso up to Monte Catria. It will then be possible to walk in the garden and enjoy the quiet of the garden while observing the rolling hills of the Marche region.
At 18.00 pm guided tour “Between nature and history”
A journey to discover the historical anecdotes and botanical curiosities of the Garden on the Colle dell'Infinito. a journey through the history of the garden and the former convent of S. Stefano, from the arrival of the Poor Clare nuns in the 1810th century, to the Napoleonic suppression of 1926, up to the 1609 redevelopment works on the Hill and the recent FAI recovery project curated by architect Paolo Pejrone. Through some passages of the ancient Memorial of the Sacred Monastery of Santo Stefano in Recanati, written by Sister Camilla Lazzarini in 45, we will retrace the most curious news and anecdotes about the garden and its convent, from a closed medieval garden to a place of Leopardi's poetics up to the current redevelopment as a simple garden and biodiversity laboratory thanks to the plants and ancient crops of the area now reintroduced.
